Not much of anyone wears scarves where I am, but it doesn’t get to cold in Dallas. I do wear them though and I know two guys I have dated wore them also at times.
Every year I go look at Christmas lights in a near by neighborhood that goes crazy with them. There is also a mall that goes way out for Christmas that I make sure I go to at least once. And my family always has Mexican food on Christmas day,
Yeah, usually guys don’t like to wear scarves (not at my school at least) except my friend Billy, who has a brown cashmere scarf, but I think that’s mostly a joke.
Not very- I think 60′s is about the worst it gets there. I remember going down south and people started pulling over on the side of the road when it started to snow- or I should say sprinkle because that was all it was. LOL To be fair I think it was the first time in at least 20 years that anything fell out of the sky.
I grew up in Nashville, TN and can’t say I saw men wear scarves in general. It gets windy and bitter cold there but not much snow. I had to laugh seh97001..yes 2 inches of snow and the town is shut down.
Our family has an advent wreath with four candles we light each Sunday in anticipation for Christmas. We light them for dinner during the week.
The families I know who do the candy calendars have quilted or handmade ones they reuse each year. They are absolutely the best way to visually show kids how much longer until Christmas.
The lowest it ever gets here is -11C(around 12F), but only about 3 days per year. Mostly it stays in the 30F-50F range from the end of December to the beginning of March. It was 70F yesterday(Nov 29), today 55F. If we get any snow(maybe 2 inches if we’re lucky) we stay home-no school or work.
Yes my husband picked it up actually when he was in London.. they are quite popular I already have mine and cannot wait till the first! Door number one.. not as large.. but still.. mmm chocolate.. cheers.
I do, which is why I really enjoy watching your videos! My oma and opa came to America after WWII – they were from Berlin. So I always grew up with strong German traditions since they were pretty “fresh,” haha. My oma makes the best German food for Christmas, too. It’s nice, because our traditions are different from everyone else’s, you know?
Well, I think it’s lovely of you to do that. The Christmas tree with felt sack ornaments is a classic handmade advent calendar that is very popular here.
Does that mean you have German ancestry, then?

hadn’t thought about making one actually. I bought him a traditional one with pictures. Maybe if I have more time next year I could make one
)
That scarf doesn’t exist. It’s just a legend.
Well I knew *you* would have one. So did you make one for the bf?

I see. So scarves are only for pros, eh?
Scarfs are generally only worn by American men when they are professionals. (Suits) Or where it is REALLY cold like where I grew up.

It is good except when she looks out for things she shouldn’t. But I suppose that is the occupational hazard of being a mother.
Just to brow beat you a little more, my family also has had advent calendars in the past but we do have German blood.
or maybe it gives the wearer the ability to cast all 9th level spells.
*grin*
it is almost as if people know what they are doing…imagine that.
PS. we have advent calenders here too
)
Weh-heh loving the Tartan scarf ;o)

Isn’t that the truth? I bought my first one two years ago and I just could not believe what a difference it made.

Exactly, who’s going to argue with chocolate..? *g*
So you buy them at the local supermarkets just like we do, then? I think that’s fascinating. Hope you’ll have one this year.
I’m not a huge Christmas fan myself. The way the decoration is used to blatantly promote consumerism makes me ill.
However, I appreciate personal sentiments and traditions to do with Christmas.
Your advent candles… or they in a ring of four and you light one on each advent Sunday?
Please do. Is it a +8 dexterity scarf that also carries charges of “Stone Skin” and “Defense against cold” spells?
I wouldn’t think of opening them in advance.
